Femmes en action Montmagny-L’Islet returns with new features

Montmagny, January 22, 2025 – The Centre d’aide aux entreprises (CAE) Montmagny-L’Islet, in collaboration with CMATV, the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the MRC de Montmagny, and the Résidence des Bâtisseurs, is proud to announce the second edition of Femmes en action Montmagny-L’Islet. This event will take place on Thursday, March 6, 2025, from noon to 6 PM at the Espace citoyen in Montmagny, located at 48 Avenue du Bassin Nord, in celebration of International Women’s Rights Day.

The 2025 edition will be under the honorary presidency of Ms. Gaëtane A. Corriveau. Originally from Berthier-sur-Mer, she is renowned for her exceptional career. A political scientist and acclaimed trainer, she is dedicated to improving the representation of women in politics. She works with the Groupe Femmes, Politique et Démocratie (GFPD), where she develops programs aimed at encouraging and supporting women’s participation in the political sphere.

“We often associate the following phrase with Simone de Beauvoir: ‘All it takes is a political, economic, or religious crisis for women’s rights to be called into question. Throughout your life, you must remain vigilant.’ Indeed, we have made significant progress regarding women’s place in society, but it is imperative to remain vigilant and work hand in hand with our allies. Together, we must continue to create a more inclusive and equitable future for everyone,” proudly shared Ms. Gaëtane A. Corriveau, honorary president of Femmes en action Montmagny-L’Islet.

New to this edition is an “Economic Zone” dedicated to women in business or those aspiring to entrepreneurship. Experts will be on-site to provide personalized advice and support. The afternoon will feature two discussion panels. The first, Entrepreneurship for Women: Stories of Local Success, will highlight inspiring female entrepreneurs from Montmagny-L’Islet, who will share their journeys and lessons learned in business. The second, Women in Leadership: Experiences from the Community Sector, will feature women sharing their experiences and the challenges they have faced in the community sector. Additionally, as in the previous year, nearly thirty diverse booths will be available to participants, catering to all tastes and interests.

“We are proud to bring women together at the planning table to create an inspiring day like Femmes en action. Even in 2025, it is important to highlight International Women’s Rights Day. We look forward to welcoming many participants to this day rich in exchanges and inspiration. Together, let us celebrate the strength and diversity of women in Montmagny-L’Islet and the region,” stated the organizing committee.
